About the event
Pride today is a vibrant celebration, but its roots are deeply embedded in protest. Join us for a fun workshop at the oak Lawn branch library in Dallas, where we will delve into the history of Pride as a powerful protest movement, and bring the concepts to life by creating your own pride & protest sign!
During this workshop, we will:
- Explore the History of Pride as a Protest: Dive into the origins of Pride and the pivotal protests that have shaped the LGBTQ+ movement.
- Share Historical LGBTQ+ Protest Signs: Get inspired by some of our favorite protest signs from past LGBTQ+ pride & protest events.
- Create Your Own Sign: Channel your creativity and passion to make your own pride & protest sign, just in time for the Pride in Dallas parade!
At Badge Of Pride, we envision a world where learning about LGBTQ+ history is a vital means for promoting civic engagement, social justice, and political change. Whether you're a seasoned activist or new to the movement, this workshop is for you. Come make your voice heard and your presence known at this year's Pride in Dallas parade!
RSVP REQUIRED. $10 suggested donation. All materials will be provided.
