Most of that history was never documented. It lives in photo albums, shoeboxes, and phone galleries. And when those disappear, so does the proof that we were here.


The Way We Were: Dallas LGBTQ+ Nightlife, 1945-Today is changing that—by building a living record of Dallas LGBTQ+ nightlife, shaped directly by the people who made it. On June 2, we’re inviting you to bring your photos and be part of it. And we’re doing it in a way that feels like us. Community archiving doesn’t have to be quiet or clinical. It can be celebratory.
